A separate stencil is used for each of the ten colors. This versatile technique simulates the impact of oil colors, the transparent wash of water colors, and the effects of gouache and pastel." "Walt Disney's 1st animated feature SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS was released in theatres in 1937. Snow White has told the Dwarfs 'no dinner til you wash up.' Bemused by the situation, the Dwarfs reluctantly 'wash up.' Disney Treasures has chosen this image as a perfect example of the characterization, creativity and artistry of SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS. There are only a select group of moments from the films and shorts of the Walt Disney Studios which qualify as Disney Treasures. Once one of these moments has been selected, Disney Art Editions supervising artists, Ron Dias, returns to the original drawings, layouts, color chips, and any other archived material to create an inspired reproduction, which is then used to develop this artwork. This artwork embodies the heritage of the Walt Disney Studios as well as the Walt Disney Company's standards of creativity and quality. This finished artwork is truly a Disney Treasure. Moross Studios in Los Angeles, California, used the finished artwork in the production of this limited edition serigraph. The serigraph is printed on Somerset Soft White Textured paper. There are 7,500 pieces in the regular edition with 250 publisher's proofs. The edition may not all be printed at the same time. This limited edition was produced in 1994. Disney Treasures has approved the techniques used in the production of this edition. At the conclusion of the edition, the screens, plates and other printing components are destroyed. The original finished artwork is archived at the Walt Disney Company."
